GRP Pultruded Profiles

GRP pultruded profiles are an ideal alternative to traditional steel and timber, offering cost-effective, durable and corrosion-resistant protection for industrial structures.

Exceptionally strong and sturdy, GRP profiles can be used in a range of ways and come in a variety of shapes and sizes to suit the task at hand. Manufactured from isophthalic polyester resin and reinforced with E glass fibre for extra strength – GRP profiles are superior for commercial and industrial use.

At HR Fibreglass, we stock a range of GRP pultruded profiles including:

  • Square tube
  • I-shape
  • Floor plate
  • Flat plate
  • Equal angle
  • Kick plate
  • Round-tube

See below our full range of I beams, box sections, angle, tubes and channels. We can also supply new moulds to suit your exact shape requirements – so whether its off the shelf or custom-made, our GRP profiles will be sure to fit any job.

FAQs

What are GRP Pultruded Profiles?

Within construction, pultruded profiles are a crucial element to offer stability where it’s needed most. An integral structural component, pultruded profiles have been used across all industries for many decades thanks to their low-cost, reliability and simple yet effective production process.

GRP, or Glass Reinforced Plastic – otherwise known as fibreglass, is combined with isophthalic polyester resin to create composite parts. This pultrusion process allows for high volumes of identical components to be made using highly automated machinery that can shape a component within seconds.

GRP pultruded profiles can be simple, or can feature more complex cross-sections, depending on the industry and use required. Each of the GRP pultruded profiles manufactured here at HR Kilns meet BS EN13706 E23 standards and make for an ideal long-term alternative to more traditional materials such as steel and wood.

Are GRP Pultruded Profiles safe?

Over the years the way pultruded profiles are manufactured has evolved to keep up with new ways of working. As such, GRP pultruded profiles have largely taken over more traditional materials such as aluminium and concrete to offer a faster, more efficient – but above all else, safer, way of working.

GRP materials are lighter to work with, cheaper and are ultimately more robust, offering resistance to degradation as a result of environmental factors. It is thanks to these qualities that GRP pultruded profiles require less maintenance, last longer and are more versatile for a huge range of sectors. This makes them amongst the safest options on the market when it comes to in-demand composite parts.
